Moment and Exchange

While exploring Rotterdam with the aid of a football myself and a coursemate experienced many interesting moments of engaging with people and the built enviroment.

The moment I have drawn using AutoCad represents Paul attempting to do kick ups (keep the ball off the ground) while walking down the steps at the same time. We were attempting this for quite a while until eventually we managed to do it. The interesting thing was how people reacted to walking past us, waiting to see whether we could achieve the challenge. Most the time of course we lost control of the ball prompting the passer-by to retrieve it, and kick it back, before walking on.

You can see a clip of the football on the steps in the video montage.

A very touching moment on the trip was when a mother and son were waiting for the son's father to arrive in a little square near the train station where we were kicking the ball. The child started to join in with us kicking the ball about and once the father arrived the mother and father (who we learnt were not together) and the child were all playing together. The child clearly loved it as he was in tears when he and his father had to leave.
