Initial Designing
This section is formulated from 'the big draw' and my programmatic strategy site analysis.
The South side of the building houses the social spaces such as cafe, bar and lobby. This allows the sunshine to penetrate these spaces. The cafe and bar are built into the 'football terrace' like steps. These steps surround a 'front of building' event space.
The North of the building contains the playing spaces. The concept is that 'street football' spaces are on the ground level to directly connect to the streets, and then the more formal 5 a side pitches are below ground.
However do the 5 a side football pitches have to lie next to each other in a typical format? By moving them around in section (below) to different levels the basement and ground floor become more connected as well with larger and brighter double height spaces.
The 'street football' will then manifest itself into the building around the football pitches and through the entire building.
